Grand Opening of the 68th Venice International Film Festival

After the success of the first four editions, the Lancia Café is definitely the meeting place at the Venice Lido. Set up on the terrace of Hotel Excelsior, it is the ideal location for the media to get together with new talents, producers, directors and actors for one-to-one interviews and for exclusive parties that animate the Venetian nights during the event. After a thorough restyling, the Lancia Café appears this year in a more extensive and elegant version, establishing itself as the ideal place for the festival's VIPs to get together, even if simply to enjoy a drink in a refined and relaxed atmosphere.

On the opening night of the Festival, Wednesday August 31, the Lancia Café has hosted the after dinner party that has officially opened the eleven days of cinema and glamour.

On Sunday 4 September, the prestigious ceremony of the Kinéo Prize “Diamanti al Cinema Italiano” will take place, awarded by the public to Italian cinema, which returns to Venice for its ninth edition. On Monday 5 September the Lancia Café will host a special party: the renowned weekly Vanity Fair will be the star of a night of festivity together with the cast of "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy", a film directed by Tomas Alfredson starring Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Colin Firth and John Hurt.

Then on the evening of 7 September the long-awaited party organised by the magazine Ciak, a magazine of reference for the movie industry (editor in chief: Piera Detassis), will be held. Many well-known faces from the world of movies and entertainment take part each year. All of the most popular bloggers on the Internet, on the other hand, will meet at the Lancia Café on Thursday 8 September at 9.30 p.m. to await the awarding of the "Mouse d'Oro" (Golden Mouse), a prize given by online critics that will also be assigned at this edition of the Venice Film Festival by the top Italian webzines specialising in film journalism and criticism.
